Inpatient Service
Rotation Description: This is a hospital-based clerkship rotation, involving daily work and attending rounds. Responsibilities include following two to three patients at any one time. This includes history and physical examinations, daily progress notes, ordering of appropriate labs and diagnostic tests. The medical student may take call with a senior resident which is approximately two nights per month.

Outpatient Rotation
Rotation Description: This is a hands-on rotation. The medical student will evaluate patients regarding pertinent history and physical examination. Prior to staffing a patient student, the will develop a differential diagnosis, diagnostic and laboratory plan and treatment plan. In addition, they will attend medical conferences daily. Several days per month, they will attend our free OB clinic where they will evaluate primarily Hispanic patients in various antepartum stages.
