Hospice Volunteers 

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in someone's life? We are always seeking individuals who are interested in learning more about becoming hospice volunteers. Hospice volunteers are a vital part of the care and compassion we provide patients and their families. Many of our volunteers' share that they find hospice service fulfilling and a privilege.  

Volunteer Opportunities 

Whatever your interest, whatever your passion, there is a place for you to help. Hospice volunteers can provide different types of support based on their interests, talents and abilities. Some volunteers work directly with patient care, providing much-needed respite breaks to family members, running errands, and lending emotional support and companionship. Other volunteers are called to the mission of hospice by assisting with fundraising efforts, special projects, and clerical work that supports clinical services and patient care. 

We offer volunteer training that provides in-depth education about the end-of-life process, care and comfort measures, and the goals of hospice. An adult must accompany hospice volunteers under the age of 18 during patient visits. Hospice volunteers under 18 may also volunteer at our hospice houses or with administrative support tasks in a UnityPoint at Home office.
