About Our Program

For Students and Program Coordinators:

Students completing rotations with UnityPoint Clinic will learn from our physicians, providers, and clinic staff as they lead the way in a team approach to achieve the best outcome for every patient, every time. We are committed to providing a high-quality experience and exposure to general areas of medicine and patient care as a means to develop knowledge and professional skill.

For a student to be considered for a clinical rotation, the school in which they are enrolled must have an active affiliation agreement with UnityPoint Clinic on file. Check with your school program if you are unsure. For further questions about affiliation agreements, clinic locations, or new school affiliation requests, please connect with us at UPC_MedEd@unitypoint.org.

Students with secured preceptors should submit rotation information to their school first. UnityPoint Clinic regularly connects with school coordinators for rotation submissions. Based on high demand for student placement, we have a centralized process for rotation compliance and training hosted entirely on the MyClinicalExchange website.

For Clinic Administrators:
Clinic Administrators are often the first connection a student makes with UnityPoint Clinic. You are welcome to direct students to email us at UPC_MedEd@unitypoint.org for UnityPoint Clinic for assistance with the request and registration process.

For Current Providers/APPs
After your first year with UnityPoint Clinic, you have the opportunity to become a preceptor for medical and advanced practitioner students. This awesome position as a preceptor allows you to lead in building future medical providers, shape our communities by training others in the highest quality patient care, and take part in the greater effort of recruiting future UnityPoint Clinic providers. As a preceptor you will provide invaluable educational opportunities as students provide patient care under your supervision.

Please email us at UPC_MedEd@unitypoint.org with any questions regarding becoming a preceptor, compensation, and student rotations.
