Ganser Student Program
The Ganser Student Program offers a unique and immersive summer experience for undergraduate students pursuing careers in health care.
Each year, six students are selected for a 12-week summer paid position that provides a deep dive into hospital operations and hands-on experience in a specific department. The program is designed to offer unparalleled exposure to the inner workings of a major healthcare institution.
Program Features
- Department Placement: Each student is assigned to a hospital department where they complete a meaningful individual project and contribute to daily operations.
- Professional Development: Opportunities include attending hospital and medical staff meetings, collaborating on a group project, and shadowing physicians and other health care professionals.
- Comprehensive Exposure: Students meet with 50+ departments across the hospital and affiliated areas, gaining valuable insights.
- Full-Time Commitment: Participants work 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday for 12 weeks, with up to two unpaid days off during the program. To get the most out of the experience, students are encouraged to focus solely on the program without taking summer classes or other jobs.
