Professional & Continuing Education
St. Luke's believes in providing educational opportunities for its associates and others within the community who might be interested in entering the healthcare profession. St. Luke's sponsorship of the schools of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiologic Technology are ideal examples of this dedication, as are its other opportunities in Continuing Education.
St. Luke's recognizes the time and personal effort necessary to achieve and maintain competency as a healthcare professional. With this in mind, we offer a wide variety of high quality continuing education programs. The programs you'll find listed on these pages are designed to enhance the practice of health professionals. Programs, courses and conferences are continually added so check back often.
St. Luke's Continuing Education programs are in compliance with Chapter V of the Iowa Board of Nursing through Iowa Provider #46. Courses must be completed in their entirety to receive credit. No partial credit will be granted. A record of your participation will be on file at St. Luke's Hospital for four years following the program. A contact hour will be awarded for every 50 minutes of instruction.
Registrations are taken on a first come basis and will be considered official when payment is received. Early registrations are honored by the postmarked date. Enrollments for specific programs may be limited based on the target audience or space restrictions. If maximum registration has been met or if cancellation for a program is necessary we will attempt to reach you and your full registration fee will be refunded. Cancellation policies for each program will be identified in the program brochure. The Nursing Continuing Education Coordinator should be contacted regarding any problems or concerns.
Complete brochures for each program will provide details on the purpose, objectives, schedule, faculty, CEUs and registration information. Request your brochure(s) via e-mail so you may take advantage of early registration. The program brochures will be sent to you by mail.
