Pediatric Residency Program at Blank Children's Hospital

The Pediatric Residency Program at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa provides the perfect balance of pediatric education and training in a supportive, caring environment.

The program is a primary training ground for general pediatricians, as well as those wishing to obtain a strong general pediatric foundation prior to pursuing a fellowship.

A Hospital Just for Kids, Perfect for Learning

Blank Children's Hospital is a perfect sized hospital for resident training - large enough to offer a diverse patient population with 150 primary providers and 60 pediatric sub-specialists, yet small enough to get to know the faculty in a short amount of time.

The program is fully accredited by the ACGME and offers 7 categorical positions each year.

There are no fellowship trainees at Blank Children's, so you are responsible for managing your own patients, allowing you more hands-on procedure experience.

Leaders in Pediatrics Look to Blank Children's for Teaching

Blank Children's has made a strong commitment to the future of children's healthcare. As part of the residency program, leaders in pediatric education from throughout the United States visit Blank Children's to conduct conferences and teaching rounds for the staff.

Blank Children's offers a strong research component at the adjacent Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

The Blank Pediatric Residency Program is also affiliated with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The program provides residents with the opportunity to develop clinical skills in an environment where both common and unique medical disorders are seen.
