Brittany Faley, Pharm.D.
Brittany is originally from Johnston, Iowa. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in May 2019. She was part of the inaugural Palliative Care Certificate program offered at the college of pharmacy. Her current professional interests include pain management, palliative care, and oncology. Brittany plans on pursuing a PGY-2 in pain management and palliative care.
Morgan Jacks, Pharm.D.
Morgan is originally from Waverly, IA. She completed her undergraduate studies in math and biology at Wartburg College. She attended the University of Iowa where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a Palliative Care Certificate in May 2019. Her professional interests include palliative care, pain management, critical care, and academia. After residency, Morgan hopes to continue to a second year of residency focused on Pain Management and Palliative Care or obtain a clinical pharmacist position within a hospital or clinic in northeastern Iowa.
Zach Lynch, Pharm.D
Zach is originally from Charles City, Iowa. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in May 2019. His current professional interests include critical care, hospital administration, and internal medicine. Following his residency, Zach hopes to pursue an inpatient hospital pharmacy career in the area.
Grayson Meunier, PharmD
Grayson is originally from Lake in the Hills, Illinois. He attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May 2018. His professional interests include cardiology, infectious disease, and critical care. Following his residency, Grayson hopes to pursue a clinical pharmacist position in the Midwest with the ability to precept students.
Nicole Schaberg, PharmD
Nicoleis originally from Stillwater, Minnesota. She attended South Dakota State University where she received minors in both biology and Spanish, a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Her year-long resident project evaluated the use of intravenous morphine in the setting of acute pain and implanted a ketamine protocol. Nicole is a current pain management and palliative care PGY2 pharmacy resident with the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, Arkansas. Nicole plans to pursue Board Certification and work toward a fulfilling career which balances both clinical responsibilities and teaching opportunities.
Julia Fifield, PharmD
Julia is originally from Naperville, Illinois. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in May, 2017. Her current professional interests include critical care, infectious diseases, pediatrics, and practice management. Following her residency, Julia accepted a position as a staff/clinical pharmacist in the emergency department at Allen Hospital and is a preceptor in training.
Jordann Kunkle, PharmD
Jordann is originally from Sioux City, IA and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May 2017 from the University of Iowa. Her professional interests include infectious disease, critical care, cardiology, and emergency medicine. Following her residency, Jordann accepted a pharmacist position with University of North Carolina.
Michael Jacobsen, PharmD
Michael is originally from Cedar Rapids, IA. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration from Drake University. His professional interests include critical care, cardiology, infectious disease and internal medicine. His year-long residency project was a trial to evaluate the hospital's vancomycin protocol for obese patients. After completion of his residency, Michael accepted a position with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a pharmacist and plans to become a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, serve as a clinical pharmacist, and precept students.
Jacob Peterson, PharmD
Jacob received his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in May of 2016. He is originally from Waterloo, IA. His clinical interests include critical care, emergency medicine, and infectious disease. His project over the course of his residency year at Allen was to focus on the proper indication and benefits to proton pump inhibitor therapy for patients concurrently receiving multiple antiplatelet agents. Following residency, Jacob accepted a position to remain on staff at Allen Hospital and is precepting the infectious disease residency rotation.
Janice Bueter, PharmD
Janice is originally from Leopold, MO and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May 2015 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her professional interests include oncology, rural care, and academia. Janice's residency project was to create a CPOE template for chemotherapy orders. Upon completion of her residency, Janice accepted a position with Southeast HEALTH in Cape Girardeau, Missouri as staff/clinical pharmacist. She also helped to establish a PGY1 residency program at their institution.
Nupur Chopra, PharmD
Nupur is originally from Olympia Fields, Illinois. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master's in Public Administration at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Her professional interests are in anticoagulation and critical care. Nupur's residency project was to create a risk stratification tool for pharmacists to use while evaluating QTc prolonging medications. Nupur accepted a position with Allen Hospital as a staff/clinical pharmacist in the emergency department and will continue to work with the residency program as a preceptor. She also plans to pursue her board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist.
Anita Cheruvillil, PharmD
Anita received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Iowa in May 2014. She is originally from Urbandale, Iowa. Her professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care. Anita's residency project evaluated use of post-op pain medication in general surgery patients. Anita is a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting near Chicago, Illinois.
I-Chau (Emily) Liang, PharmD
Emily is originally from Iowa City, Iowa and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of
Iowa in May 2014. Her professional interests include diabetes,
anticoagulation, and oncology. She is also interested in teaching and
conducting research. Emily created a pharmacist guided procalcitonin monitoring program as her residency project, which was implemented. Emily is working in sterile compounding at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She further intends to pursue her PhD in pharmacoeconomics.
Beth Acevedo PharmD
Beth is originally from Ottumwa, Iowa. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University in May 2013. Her professional interests include infectious disease and oncology. Beth's residency project evaluated guideline adherence for Surgical Care Improvement Project antibiotic selection. Beth is employed by the VA Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa as an inpatient pharmacist.
Adam Wilcox, PharmD
Adam is originally from Waverly, Iowa and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in May 2013. Adam's professional interests include anticoagulation, diabetes, COPD/asthma, heart failure, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. His residency project was an evaluation of medication reconciliation in an outpatient physician clinic. Adam recently accepted a position with Allen Hospital following a 2 year staff/clinical position with Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Adam will be a residency preceptor and is currently developing additional elective opportunities.
Brenda Riesenberg, PharmD
Brenda is originally from Carroll, Iowa and received her Pharmacy degree with a Diabetes Concentration from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in May 2012. Professional interests include diabetes mellitus, infectious disease, and general medicine. Brenda's residency project was "Development and Implementation of a Tech-Check-Tech Program". Allen's Tech-Check-Tech program is one of the few in the state. After completing her residency, she accepted a position with UnityPoint Health - Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Andrew Washburn, PharmD
Andrew is originally from Marion, Iowa, and received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in May of 2012. Andrew's professional areas of interest include diabetes, infectious disease, cardiology and anticoagulation. Andrew's residency project was "Implementation of a Pharmacist-Managed Heart Failure Clinic". He accepted a position with Allen Hospital's Anticoagulation Clinic and precepts the residents in their longitudinal experience in the clinic.
