Meet the 2017-2018 Fellow
Jordan Brelje graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing: Digital Advertising and Public Relations. After working as a graduate assistant in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Iowa College of Public Health, she earned a Master of Health Administration in 2017. Previously, Jordan has also served as an Administrative Intern at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in 2016, a Marketing Intern at Mayo Clinic in 2015, and was the Brand Communications Intern at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 2014.
About the UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital Administrative Fellowship
A region and system that prides itself on furthering education, the fellow at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital will gain a global understanding of health care executive leadership in a large, progressive health system while collecting meaningful and purposeful project work and experience.
Fellows can expect to be involved in a wide range of tasks, including:
- Large capital projects
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Clinical and surgical observation
- Exposure to hospital and clinic operations
- Weekly meetings with CEO
- Weekly senior leadership gatherings and monthly hospital board meetings
- System networking opportunities
- Experience with rural hospital liaison
- Work alongside a dedicated administrative fellow mentor
The term of the fellowship will be one year. UnityPoint Health – Waterloo offers a competitive compensation package commensurate on health care related experience. UnityPoint Health will provide an allowance for one qualified educational conference during the fellowship.
