As a nurse, you have choices. UnityPoint Health - Trinity in the Quad Cities is looking for highly qualified, enthusiastic and customer service-oriented RNs. Opportunities include medical surgery, intensive care unit, operating room, behavioral health, home health and clinics, as well as in our new comprehensive heart center and state-of-the-art emergency department. 

We are currently looking for candidates who fit the following criteria: 


  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Previous acute care experience is preferred

  • Must have knowledge of the nursing care required for patients throughout the age continuum

  • Must possess the ability to use the nursing process

  • Must have knowledge of teaching/learning theories

  • Must have the ability to critically think, problem solve, plan, organize, and coordinate patient care activities

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Be a current Registered Professional Nurse licensed in the State of Illinois or Iowa

  • Must have licensure in the state in which they are working prior to start

  • A current CPR certification is required

*Nurses with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) can complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and nurses with a BSN can complete a master's degree at the Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Nurses can receive $5,250 a year for up to three years. A three-year work commitment with UnityPoint Health is required after final course completed.

What Our Clinical Nurses Do

Clinical nurses are an essential part of the UnityPoint Health team. RNs who work with Trinity, Clinics or UnityPoint at Home are expected to:

  • Utilize the nursing process

  • Coordinate and implement the care of patients within an assigned unit of the hospital under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Patient Care Manager

  • Perform work of considerable difficulty

  • Represent nurses within Trinity Medical Center

  • Work to improve the health of the community we serve

General Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Demonstrate competence in critical thinking, interpersonal and technical skills necessary to carry out assigned duties

  • Demonstrate competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs

  • Protect, promote and optimize health and abilities and prevent illness and injury

  • Alleviate suffering through diagnosis and treatment, and advocate the care of individuals, families, communities and populations

  • Consistently conform to high standards of practice

  • Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation

  • Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnoses or issues

  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation

  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes

  • Implement the identified plan

  • Evaluate progress towards attainment of outcomes

  • Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice

  • Attain knowledge and competency that reflect current nursing practice
