For Students & Program Coordinators
Students completing rotations with UnityPoint Clinic will learn from our physicians, providers, and clinic staff as they lead the way in a team approach to achieve the best outcome for every patient, every time. We are committed to providing a high-quality experience and exposure to general areas of medicine and patient care as a means to develop knowledge and professional skill.
For a student to be considered for a clinical rotation, the school in which they are enrolled must have an active affiliation agreement with UnityPoint Clinic on file. Check with your school program if you are unsure. For further questions about affiliation agreements, clinic locations, or new school affiliation requests, please connect with the Student Clinical Education Coordinator.
Based on high demand for student placement, we have a centralized process for rotation requests and registration hosted on the MyClinicalExchange website.
Please review our Student Registration and Placement Guide (PDF) for common questions and helpful tips as you prepare for the request and registration process.
For Clinic Administrators
Clinic Administrators are often the first connection a student makes with UnityPoint Clinic. You are welcome to direct students to email the Student Clinical Education Coordinator for UnityPoint Clinic for assistance with the request and registration process.
With the high volume of clinical rotation requests, UnityPoint Clinic now processes all rotation requests with providers through MyClinicalExchange website. Rotation requests may be entered by the student and/or their program coordinator. Within myClinicalExchange, all students will complete compliance requirements.
Please visit our SharePoint Medical Student Rotations with Providers for more frequently asked questions and tools.
For Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
After your first year with UnityPoint Clinic, you have the opportunity to become a preceptor for medical and advanced practitioner students. This awesome position as a preceptor allows you to lead in building future medical providers, shape our communities by training others in the highest quality patient care, and take part in the greater effort of recruiting future UnityPoint providers. As a preceptor you will provide invaluable educational opportunities as students provide patient care under your supervision.
Please email our Student Clinical Education Coordinator with any questions regarding becoming a preceptor, compensation, and student rotations.
