Advocacy and Financial Assistance
UnityPoint at Home is staffed with a Medication Assistance Advocate who can provide assistance to patients by using drug rebates, coupons and copay assistance programs that are offered through some drug manufacturers. Some national foundations also assist patients with copays for medications when out-of-pocket expenses are unaffordable. After you answer a few eligibility questions, we can help you find a medication assistance program and get you started in the enrollment process.
Patients needing financial assistance due to limited health insurance and/or low income may qualify for free or discounted medications offered through many drug manufacture programs. National foundations may also assist patients whose financial situations prevent them from getting the medicine they need.
Every program's eligibility criteria are different but commonly require:
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Patient has limited or no insurance coverage
- Patient has an income less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level
