Classes For New Parents
Heartsaver CPR/AED Training (perfect class for new & expectant parents)
This course is for all lay rescuers. This three hour course focuses on
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and training of how to use an AED
(Automated External Defibrillator), and foreign body airway obstruction
(FBAO) for all ages (adult, child and infant).

- Breastfeeding Friends: This group is for breastfeeding moms and babies, newborn to one year of age. Meet with a Lactation Consultant/Breastfeeding Educator and other mothers to share experiences, discuss breastfeeding questions and find solutions to common problems. Babies will receive a weight check. This support group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 4 - 5:30 p.m. Preregistration is not necessary. For more information, please call (319) 369-8944. - Parents With Empty Arms Support Group: This group serves families grieving a pregnancy loss through miscarriage, stillborn or death of an infant. Monthly group meetings are on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Formal Lounge in the Resource Center. Preregistration is not necessary. For more information call (319) 369-7580.
