Where to Go for Care
What to Expect at Urgent Care
- Read our where to go for care guide.
- During the week (Monday – Friday), check with your primary care provider before going to a walk-in clinic.
- If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the emergency room.
COVID-19 Testing Options
If you must wait for care, please be patient. Our team is working hard to best serve you. Before you leave home, check current location wait time estimates and, if available, reserve your spot online.
Click the COVID-19 testing button below to determine the appropriate testing option before you seek care. Our emergency departments, walk-in clinics and Express locations DO NOT offer walk-in COVID-19 testing. A provider will see you for your symptoms and determine if a test is needed.
Online Check In
Check in online at any Express location listed below and we'll reserve your place in line, allowing you and your family to wait more comfortably at home – or wherever is convenient – until your estimated visit time!

A Better Experience
After UnityPoint Clinic introduced a new kind of walk-in care in 2017, the response has been patient satisfaction scores ranking in the 99th percentile nationally. This design puts a strong focus on quality, comforting amenities such as coffee and snacks, clean facilities and a time-saving process to enhance your visit.

|A time-saving process has achieved an average "door-to-door" time of 27 minutes across all locations.
||Less than 5 minutes
| A majority of visitors are greeted at the door by a
clinical care attendant and go directly to a private suite.
|"Take a number"
|We value a personal greeting when you visit us and perhaps are not having your best day.
| Online check-in
|We have a room reserved specifically for visitors who checked in online.
||Registration, nurse, provider
||Care attendant, provider
|Clinical care attendants can take all initial intake information to expedite the registration process.
|Most common prescriptions are available on-site
to save an extra stop at the pharmacy.
*Expectations indicate the majority response from survey results gathered in March 2018.
