UnityPoint Clinic – Express
UnityPoint Clinic is asking for our community's help, as we are experiencing extremely high volumes of sick patients and requests for COVID-19 testing. For people who are not sick, and haven't been exposed to COVID-19, but need to be tested for another reason, please consider other testing options in your community such as local pharmacies and public health departments. As always, if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, we want to see you as soon as possible—particularly if you are high risk or unvaccinated.
Walk-In Care, Open 365 Days a Year!
Our upgraded urgent care service is now called UnityPoint Clinic Express. Like before, we treat injuries and illnesses that require a healthcare provider's attention but aren't life-threatening.
Our teams have the experience and expertise to provide high-quality care for patients of all ages – typically in under 30 minutes or less. With our convenient location where highways 14 and 30 intersect in Marshalltown, you have easy access to care when you need it – no appointment necessary!
Note that construction is underway as we expand our Medical Park into a new hospital. No matter, as we're still seeing patients in our Express clinic – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days a year!
Online Check In

Frequently Asked Questions
What is online check in?
Checking in online before your visit gives you an estimated time of when you can be seen, based on patient volume. This can result in less time spent in the waiting room because you can arrive at the clinic closer to the time when a provider is available to see you. This also means you can spend more time relaxing in the comfort of your home instead of sitting in the waiting room.
What happens after I check in online?
You will get a text message at least 15 minutes (or longer if you choose) prior to when you should arrive at the clinic. You will be asked to confirm your reservation when you arrive.
What should I do when I arrive?
Checking in online is meant to give an estimated time for when you can be seen and reduce the time spent in the waiting room at the clinic. You will still need to check in at our front desk when you arrive. This lets our staff know that you are at the clinic and ready to be seen. Please have insurance information with you.
Is my reserved time guaranteed?
The specific time you sign up for is only an estimate. Many factors affect when you will actually be seen including the number of patients in the clinic and the varying degrees of illnesses.
Do I have to check in online?
No. Walk-in patients are still welcome, although you should call ahead to (641) 854-8550 before visiting while the COVID-19 pandemic is still prevalent in the community.
