Waivers

The Board of Managers of UnityPoint Accountable Care, L.C. has approved the following arrangements for the waivers authorized jointly by CMS and the OIG pursuant to the final rule providing a waiver of the application of the Federal Physician Self-Referral Law (commonly referred to as the Stark Law) and the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute for certain arrangements involving ACOs that participate in the MSSP. See Medicare Program; Final Waivers in Connection With the Shared Savings Program, 80 Fed. Reg. 66,725 (Oct. 29, 2015).

Orthopedic Participation Waiver

The purpose for the development of the Orthopedic Participation Waiver between specific UAC participants is to promote a coordinated program of care for orthopedic surgery patients. Centralized orthopedic surgical services seek to increase patient engagement, decrease overall cost of care, assist in coordination of care and apply quality metrics to patient outcomes. Approved by the Board of Managers on January 26, 2023.
