Scott Kizer
President & CEO
Scott Kizer is the President and Chief Executive Officer of UnityPoint Health. Prior to that role, he served as Chief Legal Officer for the organization from 2021-2023 and Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at BayCare Health System in Florida.
As an attorney with over 25 years of experience in the health care industry, Scott has worked across all sectors, including: inpatient, outpatient, insurance, population health, and technology.
He earned his law degree from Drake University Law School, obtained a Master's in management information systems from Nova Southeastern University and received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Florida.
Sarah Brown
Chief Nursing Officer
Sarah Brown is the Chief Nursing Officer of UnityPoint Health. Her journey at UnityPoint Health began in 2007 when she joined Allen Hospital in Waterloo as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. She previously held the role of Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive for UnityPoint Health – Waterloo and served as the Regional Ambulatory Vice President for UnityPoint Clinic in Waterloo.
Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in leadership and administration from Allen College. In 2022, she became a Nurse Executive Advanced - Board Certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Pamela K. Delagardelle
Chief Operating Officer – West Division
Pam Delagardelle is the Chief Operating Officer for the West Division of UnityPoint Health, which includes Des Moines, Sioux City and Fort Dodge. Prior to this role, Pam served as Interim Chief Nurse Executive for UnityPoint Health from 2021-2022 and President and Chief Executive Officer of UnityPoint Health – Waterloo for the past ten years. Additionally, she served as CEO of Grundy Memorial Hospital and was awarded the Iowa Hospital Association Excellence in Leadership Award in 2008.
She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mount Mercy University and her master’s degree from the University of Iowa.
Mike Heinrich
Chief Financial Officer
Michael Heinrich, CPA, MBA is the Chief Financial Officer for UnityPoint Health. He has been with UnityPoint Health since 2017 most recently serving as Interim CFO. Prior to his interim appointment, he served UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids as Executive Vice President and CFO for six years and prior to joining UnityPoint Health, he spent more than 30 years as a senior leader in health care finance and public accounting.
Mike holds a master’s in business administration from Bradley University and a bachelor’s in accounting degree from Northern Illinois University.
Jessica Meisner, SPHR
Chief Administrative Officer
Jessica Meisner serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for UnityPoint Health, with accountability for Human Resources; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Legal; Compliance and Risk Management. Prior to that role, she served as Vice President of Human Resources Consulting for the system, and brings ten years of experience as Vice President of Human Resources for UnityPoint Clinic and UnityPoint at Home.
Jessica received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Iowa and has a Certificate as a Senior Professional – Human Resources. She is active in the Des Moines community serving as a board member for the Des Moines University, Masters of Healthcare Administration and board member for Vision Soccer Academy.
Michelle Niermann
Chief Operating Officer – East Division
Michelle Niermann is the Chief Operating Officer for the East Division of UnityPoint Health, which includes Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Dubuque, Quad Cities, IL and Madison, WI. Prior to this role, Michelle served as President and Chief Executive Officer for UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids from 2019 to 2023 as well as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Cedar Rapids.
She first joined UnityPoint Health as an Administrative Fellow in 1994 and has spent the entirety of her professional career at UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids.
Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree from Bradley University and a master’s in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Dr. Gregory R. Johnson, MD, SFHM, FAAFP, FACP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Gregory R. Johnson is the Chief Medical Officer for UnityPoint Health. Prior to joining the organization, Dr. Johnson served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Hospital Medicine and Chief Health Equity and Diversity Officer at Sound Physicians in Tacoma, Wash., where he also held several clinical leadership roles since 2009.
At Sound, Dr. Johnson was responsible for financial viability, operational efficiency and clinical outcomes, and innovation for almost 200 programs across 45 states, and several of those programs received system and national awards for outstanding clinical performance. With over 15 years of executive experience, Dr. Johnson prides himself on developing systems that drive consistently excellent clinical outcomes; creating innovative practice models to support various types of hospitals; and identifying and developing outstanding leaders who have entered broader leadership roles within and outside of Sound.
In his Chief Health Equity and Diversity Officer position at Sound, Dr. Johnson defined and led efforts to become a visionary sponsor for the Society of Hospital Medicine’s diversity and inclusion scholarship. Beyond hospital medicine, he also worked with anesthesia, emergency medicine and critical care specialties to define their specific role in eliminating health disparities with measurable results for patients and hospitals alike. He is regularly sought as a speaker and thought leader in addressing health inequity in the acute care space.
Dr. Johnson is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the McGovern School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed his residency training in both internal medicine and family practice at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, where he also served as a chief resident. He also received his certification in diversity, equity and inclusion leadership from Northwestern University. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Physicians, and a Senior Fellow in the Society of Hospital Medicine. He was recently recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the nation’s “Black Medical Leaders to Know” and as a Top Doctor in Texas for hospital medicine.
Most importantly, he is the father of Garrison, a junior political science major at the University of Kansas, and Dominic, a freshman business major at the University of Arizona.
Matthew Romanin, CPME
Chief Ambulatory Officer
Matt Romanin is the Chief Ambulatory Officer for UnityPoint Health. In this role, he leads growth and strategic priorities across UnityPoint Clinic, UnityPoint at Home, UnityPoint Accountable Care, laboratory, pharmacy, and imaging.
Matt previously served as Chief Operating Officer for UnityPoint Clinic (UPC) since 2016, having joined UPC as the Regional Operations VP for Central Iowa in 2014. Prior to that, Matt spent nearly 10 years as the COO for The South Bend Clinic, a large physician-owned for-profit multispecialty group in South Bend, IN.
In addition to supporting the strategy and operations of the nearly 300 UPC practices and departments, Matt holds responsibility in leading and developing the UnityPoint Health at Work and PACE programs.
Market Leadership
James Arnett
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Madison
James Arnett has served as the Market President for UnityPoint Health – Meriter since 2022. He has been with the organization for more than 20 years, leading operations for more than five years and most recently serving as the Meriter Chief Operating Officer prior to his promotion to Market President. Before entering operations, James led the regional Human Resources division.
James has a wealth of experience in hospital and clinical operations, human resources and healthcare integration. During his tenure with the organization, James has played a critical role in integrating with UnityPoint Health and ensuring the ongoing success of the Joint Operating Agreement with UW Health.
A Wisconsin native, he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in healthcare administration from Concordia University.
Jane Arnold
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Sioux City
Jane Arnold is the Market President for UnityPoint Health – Sioux City and has been a key part of the UnityPoint Health team for more than 20 years serving most recently as Senior Vice President of Operations and Regional Vice President of Ambulatory Operations. During her UnityPoint Health tenure, she has worked across the full continuum of care including hospital, outpatient departments, home care and clinics.
Jane received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. She earned her Master of Science in Administrative Studies and Health Services Administration from the University of South Dakota and holds a Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN.
She is a Certified Medical Practice Executive with the American College of Medical Practice Executives and a licensed and registered occupational therapist.
Jenni Friedly
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Waterloo
She has been instrumental in leading the turnaround of the Marshalltown hospital which was purchased out of bankruptcy in 2017, and subsequently opened a new hospital in Marshalltown in 2022. In addition, she led the conversion of a hospital outpatient surgery department to the first freestanding ambulatory surgery center in Black Hawk County.
Jenni received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Upper Iowa University and her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Allen College in Waterloo. She serves on numerous non-profit boards and committees in the Cedar Valley.
Leah Glasgo, RN, MHA
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge
Leah Glasgo is the Market President for UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge and has held this position since January 2019. In addition to her Fort Dodge leadership responsibilities, she also served as interim Market President for UnityPoint Health – Sioux City for two years.
Leah began her career at UnityPoint Health in 2013 as the Vice President of Rural Development for the Fort Dodge and Sioux City Markets. She then became the Vice President of Clinical Operations for UnityPoint Health – Sioux City and was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer and held that position for three years. Prior to joining UnityPoint Health, Leah served as President and CEO of Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, Iowa.
Leah began her career as a registered nurse receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University. She is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Leah serves on the Iowa Hospital Association Board of Directors, American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board, Fort Dodge Betterment Association along with the Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and the Athletics for Education and Success boards.
Casey Greene
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids
During his tenure in Cedar Rapids, he helped navigate the organization through the Covid-19 global pandemic, nation-wide staffing challenges and recovery from an Iowa derecho storm.
Casey received his Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and a master’s in business administration from the University of Iowa. He is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and serves on numerous non-profit boards and committees in Eastern Iowa.
Jennifer Havens, RN, FACHE
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Dubuque
Jennifer Havens, RN, FACHE is the Market President for UnityPoint Health – Dubuque and the Dubuque Visiting Nurses Association.
Havens, who has worked in healthcare for over 30 years, started her career as a bedside nurse in an academic medical center caring for children with cancer.
For the last 15 years, she has been a part of UnityPoint Health most recently serving as President for Grinnell Regional Medical Center for the last five years. Prior to her leadership role in Grinnell, she was the Vice President of Operations at UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown and President at Grundy County Memorial Hospital.
Shawn Morrow
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Quad Cities
Shawn Morrow is the Market President for UnityPoint Health – Quad Cities which includes all operations for UnityPoint Health – Trinity locations in the Quad Cities and Muscatine. Shawn is a proven leader with decades of healthcare transformation experience, including expertise navigating multistate complexities, driving value for health systems, and championing strong cultures of wellbeing. Prior to joining UnityPoint Health, Shawn spent 13 years as a CEO for Intermountain Health where he initiated strategies to improve care delivery, grow revenues and reduce costs.
Shawn received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and his Master of Business Administration from Murray State University in Kentucky. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Jon Rozenfeld
Market President, UnityPoint Health – Des Moines
Jon Rozenfeld is the Market President for UnityPoint Health – Des Moines.
He is a seasoned healthcare leader with more than 25 years of experience across several healthcare systems. Prior to joining UnityPoint Health in 2024, Jon held administrative positions at Quorum Health, Chicago; SSM Healthcare, Madison, WI; Ascension, Chicago; Loyola University, Chicago; and The Johns Hopkins Health System, Baltimore, MD. Jon brings a background in operational excellence, improvements in safety and quality and successful strategic growth efforts to each of his roles. Jon has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business.
