Effective Monday, May 16, 2022 - Masks Required at Hospital and Clinics
Due to increases in COVID-19 positivity rates, confirmed cases and high community transmission levels, masks are now required for all patients, visitors and team members in all hospital and clinic locations. These changes are effective Monday, May 16 at all UnityPoint Health - Grinnell hospital and clinic locations.
Those not recommended to wear a mask are children under 2 years old, those who have trouble breathing, are unconscious, incapacitated or unable to remove the mask without assistance.
UnityPoint Health is now testing all patients admitted to our hospitals for COVID-19. This includes planned admissions and transfers of all ages who have not been tested for COVID-19 in the prior 72 hours.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone experiencing symptoms, please contact your primary care provider or call (641) 236-2424, practice social distancing and follow the CDC's recommendations for self isolation.
For people who are not sick, and haven't been exposed to COVID-19, but need to be tested for another reason, please consider other testing options in your community such as local pharmacies and public health departments. As always, if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, we want to see you as soon as possible—particularly if you are high risk or unvaccinated. When to Go to Urgent Care vs. Emergency Room
See a doctor anytime, anywhere from a computer, smartphone or tablet with UnityPoint Health Virtual Care. The cost of an Urgent Care visit is $39 or less, depending on your insurance. This service provides treatment for conditions like sinus infections, rashes, urinary tract infections, allergies and other illnesses. If your provider writes a prescription, it's automatically sent to the pharmacy of your choice.

We've expanded our primary care at select clinics to include scheduled visits over the phone or by video. Our primary care providers treat patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
