Mammogram Screening in Cedar Rapids
We are once again providing screening mammograms at each of our three convenient locations. We have social distancing and cleaning measures in place to keep you safe during your visit. Learn more by watching this video.
When it comes to breast health, early detection is the best prevention. Women should have regular mammograms beginning at age 40, or sooner if recommended by their healthcare provider.
Three locations make breast cancer prevention easier for busy women. St. Luke's Breast and Bone Health offers walk-in mammograms. By simply walking in, you can receive a mammogram at a time that's convenient for you with a doctor's order. Preference is given to patients with appointments. Walk-ins are available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. For more information, call (319) 369-7216.
St. Luke's uses state-of-the-art technology, including digital mammography (Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™), to screen for and diagnose breast health issues. Digital mammography is the newest technology available for early breast cancer detection and has many benefits, including higher detection rates in some patients, fewer recalls and lower doses of radiation.
In addition to mammograms, St. Luke's Breast and Bone Health also provides breast ultrasounds, automated breast ultrasounds (ABUS), biopsies, needle localizations, cyst aspirations and bone density scans. Screenings are available at our three convenient locations - in the PCI Medical Pavilion, on St. Luke's Marion Campus, and our Westdale Campus.

A More Comfortable Mammogram
Available only at our Westdale Campus
Getting a mammogram with the SmartCurve™ system is just like a getting a regular Genius Exam™ - only more comfortable! The curved design of the compression device mirrors the shape of a woman's breast to reduce pinching and applies uniform compression over the entire breast for added comfort.
The technologist will view the images of your breast at the computer workstation to ensure quality images have been captured for review. A radiologist will then examine the images and report results to either your physician or directly to you. This technology is only offered at our Westdale Campus. Call (319) 369-8129 to schedule an appointment.
