Welcome to UnityPoint Health – Sioux City. We are pleased you have entrusted us with your care. Our physicians and staff will make every effort to keep you informed and ask for your input and make you as comfortable as possible along the way. Your care comes first at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke's – Downtown. It sounds simple, but it involves a lot: patient comfort, health care resources, attentive care and open communication.
Patient and Visitor Guide
Our goal is to make your visit as easy and convenient as possible. If you need directions, or any other information or assistance after arriving, please ask any of our employees or volunteers.
Visitor Policy
Our visitor policy is as follows:
- Up to two (2) visitors are allowed for each patient per day for outpatient and inpatient care. This includes same day procedures, clinic visits and emergency room visits.
- Patients admitted to the hospital will be asked to provide the name(s) of approved visitors upon admission. Visitors may leave and come back the same day.
- Visitors are welcome to use all waiting rooms and common areas, including the cafeteria located on Level 3 of the south building and The Shop Within hospital gift shop located on Level 1 of the south building, near the main entrance.
Parking Options
Free parking is availabile in the parking ramp. The parking ramp is accessible from 5th street and 6th street. Elevators at the south end of the parking ramp provide access to:
- The 4th and 5th floors of the Heart and Vascular Center.
- A 1st-floor walkway leading to the south hospital building.
- The 3rd and 1st floors of the Central Medical Building.
- Valet parking is available Monday–Friday, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the circle drive entrance at 624 Jones Street, across from the helicopter landing pad.
- City parking meters are located along 5th, 6th, 7th and Jones Streets.
Food and Drinks
The hospital cafeteria is located on the third floor of the south building. The cafeteria accepts credit cards, debit cards and cash.
Meal serving times are:
- Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Lunch: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Salad and Sandwich Bar and Grill: 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Gift Shop Hours:
- Monday-Tuesday: 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
We accept Visa, Discover and Mastercard.
Profits from the gift shop support the Foundation's projects at the hospital.
Visitor Parking
Free parking is available in the hospital's ramp. You can enter the ramp from either 5th or 6th streets, or from the south circle drive. Visitors can take elevators to the first floor where there is an information desk in the South Lobby.
Handicapped Parking
Handicapped parking spaces are designated in the parking ramp, near the Emergency Emergency Department and near the entrance of the Rehabilitation Center which is near 7th street and Jones street.
Cards and packages mailed to patients are delivered daily. Please include the patient's first and last name in the mailing address.

UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's - Downtown provides interpretation services for a variety of languages including American Sign Language at no cost to the patient. These services are available for a patient, family member or employee upon request. Hotel Accommodations
The following hotels offer special rates to families of St. Luke's - Downtown patients. Information is subject to change Please go to admitting, the emergency department or information desks for more information. The Ronald McDonald House in Sioux City is open to any family with a child age 21 and younger receiving medical care. Ask your unit liaison or counselor for more information.
