Helping to Provide Outstanding Care
As a community hospital UnityPoint Health - Trinity Regional Medical Center has three main challenges:
Providing medical care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
Each year Trinity provides millions of dollars in healthcare services at a free or reduced rate.
Declining reimbursement from Medicare.
On average, Trinity receives 38 cents for every dollar billed to Medicare. For example, if Trinity bills Medicare for a $100 procedure, Trinity receives $38 in payment for the procedure.
Keeping pace with new and innovative medical technology.
It is essential that Trinity's medical equipment remain current in order to meet the needs of our community, retain and recruit qualified physicians and maintain our reputation for excellence.
Addressing these challenges requires revenue beyond Trinity's present funding sources. Trinity Regional Medical Center strives to offer the best care available. However, patient fees alone do not cover the cost of the care we provide or allow us to expand and improve our services.
Providing outstanding care and making further progress as a healthcare leader requires support. Quality healthcare and innovative programs and services come with a price tag. As a not-for-profit hospital, we must rely on partnerships with friends and neighbors to expand and improve the health care in our community.
