It Takes Connection
Care. Comfort. Connection.
Three words cancer patients need to heal. Providing these crucial elements of treatment takes the latest technology, the best doctors and selfless care teams. But that’s not all. It Takes You.
It Takes You is a comprehensive campaign John Stoddard recently launched to raise $6 million for our community.
This campaign will deliver care through the latest technology, offer comfort through healing and wellness programs and provide connection through physical and mental health resources. Leading this campaign are many incredible community partners like The Iowa Clinic who pledged $100,000 to this campaign. With their gift, they are helping past, present and future patients at John Stoddard.
“We are proud to have a long-standing partnership with UnityPoint Health – Des Moines and to focus our collective efforts on providing compassionate, leading-edge healthcare to the communities we serve,” said Ben Vallier, CEO of The Iowa Clinic. “It is an honor to work together to further elevate the already excellent patient experience at the John Stoddard Cancer Center.”
The Iowa Clinic is committed to being proactive and passionate through the services they provide. Their physicians are dedicated to meeting and exceeding patient expectations while providing the highest quality of health care services.
“Thank you to The Iowa Clinic for their continued support at John Stoddard Cancer Center,” said Denny Linderbaum, President of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation. “We are honored to have strong community partners to help provide the best care possible at UnityPoint Health.”
Iowa Clinic’s support helps provide free programming to patients that will uplift and support their overall physical and mental well-being. Some of these programs include:
“Patient navigators offer a critical connection point and friendly face, directing patients to resources and information to make an overwhelming time in their lives a little less scary,” said Scott Hamling, MD. “As a breast surgeon, I see first-hand the tremendous benefits the patient navigator program provides to patients and families dealing with extremely difficult situations.”
