Brenna Finnerty recognized in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy's 2019 40 Under 40 List
Brenna Finnerty from UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation has been included in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) 2019 40 Under 40 list.
The 40 Under 40 program is designed to recognize the future leaders within the health care philanthropy community. AHP is honoring these 40 young professionals because they are shaping the future of the health care development industry. Collectively, they are changing the world—one campaign at a time.
“Brenna is one of those unique talents who truly demonstrates a passion for her work while creating an atmosphere of teamwork. And donors love her!” said David Stark, President and CEO of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines.
Finnerty joined UnityPoint Health in 2009 as a member of the marketing and communications team, joining the UnityPoint Health Foundation team in 2014. In 2019, Brenna was named Senior Director of Development for UnityPoint Health – John Stoddard Cancer Center.
“These honorees are part of a select group of health care philanthropy who have demonstrated impressive career achievements, deep community involvement and the potential to be a leader in our profession for years to come,” said Alice Ayres, AHP president & CEO.
Finnerty graduated from Waukee High School, received her Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University and completed her Master’s in Public Administration from Drake University. She is also a graduate of the 2015 Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute’s Community Leadership Program, was named “Forty under 40” by the Des Moines Business Record in 2015 and the recipient of the 2018 Ashley Okland Community Service Award from the Young Professionals Connection.
Finnerty will be recognized at the 2019 AHP Annual International Conference October 23-26 in Washington, D.C. Recognition events will include an invitation-only breakfast and award dinner on Thursday, October 24, during the conference.
