Rally Against Cancer Raises Record $350,000
John Stoddard Cancer Center’s 20th annual Rally Against Cancer, presented by Professional Solutions Insurance Company, is pleased to announce the 2020 event raised a record $350,000 net! The money raised will benefit patients and families and John Stoddard Cancer Center. More than 600 people attended Saturday’s gala.
Dorothy Hamill, a Gold Medal Figure Skater and Cancer Survivor, served as the keynote speaker at the event. She also spent time with patients at John Stoddard Cancer Center, sharing stories of hope and compassion. Hamill is a breast cancer survivor and captured the Gold Medal at the 1976 Winter Olympic Games in Austria.
“We are humbled by the outpouring of support from our community,” says Brenna Finnerty, Senior Director of Development for John Stoddard Cancer Center. “The $350,000 raised will make an immediate impact at Stoddard and we know it will benefit our patients today and into the future.”
Rally Against Cancer has grown from a small Super Bowl party for friends, to the signature fundraising event for John Stoddard Cancer Center, featuring a distinguished list of athletes and cancer survivors as keynote speakers over the years, raising over $3.8 million since inception to make a difference for patients and families at the cancer center.
All proceeds from this event directly benefit the John Stoddard Cancer Center Oncology Nurse Navigator Program, as well as other programs that provide healing and overall well-being of patients and their families. John Stoddard Cancer Center provides a wide range of patient and family support services and one of the most technologically advanced radiation oncology departments in the Midwest. Since it started, more than 20,000 patients and more than 38,000 family members and caregivers have been impacted by the proceeds of the event.
