Sue Erickson Pathways to Success Program
The Sue Erickson Pathways to Success Program was established in 2023 to support current UnityPoint Health – Meriter employees and community members interested in launching a career in healthcare. Created through a generous gift from Sue Erickson, the program helps strengthen the healthcare workforce and ensure quality care remains accessible in our community.
As healthcare systems across the country face growing workforce shortages, the program provides innovative pathways into healthcare careers through scholarship support, certification training and career development opportunities. Participants pursue entry-level roles such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician and Phlebotomist, gaining the skills and credentials needed to begin a successful healthcare career.
Through partnerships with local training programs, mentorship opportunities and career readiness support, participants overcome common barriers to employment and education while helping meet the growing healthcare needs of our region.
