East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza
UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine - East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza (The Clinic of Hope) is comprised of a team of medical professionals that are dedicated to serving the community as a consistent medical home for the Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant families and for others in the community without health insurance.
East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza was established in 1995 by UnityPoint Health - Des Moines residency faculty and community organizers who recognized the need for a rapidly growing and underinsured population of Latino women to have healthcare. The clinic helps its patients with continuous, comprehensive care in the areas of adult, pediatric and women's health. An on-site social worker is also available to clinic patients for therapy in a clinical setting. Because of the outstanding healthcare, East Des Moines/La Clinica de la Esperanza has provided to the Des Moines community, they were recognized for their accomplishments with a nomination for the 2010 Aurora Award.
La Clinica accepts most insurance plans as well as Medicaid to help even more families in our community.
