Thomas Luft, DO

Thomas Luft, DO, is a valued member of the UnityPoint Health team. Dr. Luft received his undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa, then earned his medical degree at Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his residency at the University of Iowa, College of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Luft is passionate about helping his patient during their time of need. He specializes in internal medicine, and is interested in diabetes, high blood pressure, preventative health and general adult healthcare. Outside of his position, Thomas enjoys fishing, camping and spending time with family.
Why Medicine?
As a child, Dr. Luft suffered from asthma. After having an asthma attack, he was very thankful for the doctors that helped him. The confidence, care and knowledge these doctors showed him inspired Dr. Luft to practice medicine.
Dr. Luft enjoys caring for his patients, and helping them prevent future health problems. By providing patients with the most information possible, he is able to help them make the best decisions.
