About Mohammad Alshami, M.D.

Biography

Why did you become a physician? I became a doctor to help patients and take care of those who are sick.

Describe your typical patient: My typical patient is someone experiencing symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath or fatigue, or someone with known risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes or a family history of heart disease. I also frequently see patients who have had a cardiac event or procedure and need ongoing management, as well as those referred for advanced cardiac testing to assess their heart function and risk. Many patients are seeking clarity, reassurance and a personalized approach to maintaining or improving their cardiovascular health.

What would your patients say about you? I have been described as compassionate, professional and educative.

How would you describe the ideal provider/patient relationship? The ideal provider-patient relationship is built on trust, open communication and mutual respect. I believe in creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard, informed and empowered to take an active role in their care. My goal is to work as a partner with each patient, combining medical expertise with their individual values and preferences to achieve the best possible outcomes.

What's most important for patients to know about your medical philosophy? I approach each patient with the mindset that medicine is both a science and a partnership. I believe in delivering care that is evidence-based, thorough and tailored to the individual. I also value collaboration — not only with patients, but with referring providers and care teams — to ensure seamless, coordinated care and the best possible outcomes. My priority is to treat the person, not just the condition.

What do you like to do in your free time? Outside of medicine, I enjoy staying active by playing soccer, spending time at the piano and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. These hobbies help me stay balanced and creative. I also value being involved in the community and always look for meaningful ways to give back through health education and outreach when possible.
