About Megan Starr, DPT, PT
Biography
Professional Statement:
I first got introduced to Physical Therapy as an injured athlete in high school and knew it was the field for me. However, once I knew I could work with pediatrics, I hit the ground running, surrounding myself in pediatrics. Witwer was where I had my final internship during graduate school and was hired shortly after obtaining my license. It felt like home right away and the mentorship and compassion of our team has always been something special. Today, I work with all age ranges. I have a passion for infants and vestibular/concussion. Being able to show my passion, educating families, and seeing the successes in the tiniest feet and hands fills my cup. I plan to continue my education with providing exceptional care with targeting infants and vestibular/concussion but also love to spend my days chasing those 4-year-olds!
Why did you become a physical therapist?
I was a student athlete who was injured and experienced the assistance of physical therapy first-hand. My cousin was also born premature, and I remember visiting her and helping with her PT exercises. I enjoyed the education and "playing" through therapy that helped her achieve her goals. Knowing I could work in pediatrics made the decision easy.
What is the most important thing for patients to know about your practice?
I am a life-long learner and acknowledge that I could always learn more. I bring compassion, interpersonal skills, and education to my practice. I am always on the hunt for evidence based continued education to improve my skills so I can provide the best care to each individual that I work alongside, no matter where they are in their development.
