About Marco Olivera-Martinez, M.D.
Biography
Dr. Olivera-Martinez received his medical degree in 1987 from La Salle University in Mexico City, Mexico. He completed his internship at Guadalupe Hospital in Mexico City in 1988. He did his internal medicine residency at the Instituto Nacional De Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición in Mexico City from 1989 to 1992; between 1992 and 1995 Dr. Olivera-Martinez completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the Instituto Nacional De Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición and from 1996 to 1998 he completed his transplant hepatology fellowship at UNMC College of Medicine.
Dr. Olivera-Martinez is a professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at UNMC. His clinical interests include liver transplantation, immunosuppression, alcohol induced liver disease and outcomes after liver transplant.
