Biography
August Anderson, MD is a radiation oncologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based cancer care at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s June E. Nylen Cancer Center. He specializes in advanced radiation therapy techniques designed to treat cancer safely and effectively, with care tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Dr. Anderson also serves as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Anderson appreciates opportunities to contribute to education and research focused on improving cancer treatment outcomes. He earned his medical degree with distinction from the University of California, San Francisco, completed his residency at the University of Washington, Seattle, and has received national recognition for his academic achievements and research. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Anderson is committed to expanding access to high-quality cancer care globally and has participated in clinical and quality-improvement efforts at cancer centers in low/middle-income countries around the world. He values clear communication, shared decision-making, and supporting patients and families throughout every step of their cancer journey. In his free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys running, cooking, hiking and volleyball.
