About Alisa Foxhoven, PT, DPT

Biography

Professional Statement:

I've known I wanted to be a physical therapist for a long time. After experiencing it myself when sustaining an injury from when I was a dancer, to seeing how much it has impacted family members around me. I was drawn to physical therapy because it allows me to build strong relationships with my patients, spend quality time problem-solving with families, and celebrate progress in a hands-on, engaging way. I had a special interest in pediatrics specifically because I love helping children and their families. I entered grad school with the goal of becoming a pediatric physical therapist, and that decision was reinforced through my clinical rotations where I saw firsthand the impact therapy can have on a child’s development. I’m grateful to have chosen a profession that encourages lifelong learning and growth. I enjoy attending continuing education courses and bringing back new techniques to support motor development and return-to-sport goals. Every day, I’m motivated by the resilience of the kids I work with and the opportunity to help them thrive.

Why did you become a physical therapist?

I became a pediatric physical therapist because I’m passionate about helping children reach their full potential. From infancy through adolescence, every stage of development is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. I’m especially drawn to supporting families through early challenges and empowering kids to build strength, confidence, and independence through movement.

What is the most important thing for people to know about you and your practice?

I approach each child with compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to individualized care. My practice is rooted in building strong relationships with families and creating fun, engaging environments where children feel safe and motivated to grow. Whether we're working on gross motor skills, balance, or returning to sport, I strive to make therapy both effective and enjoyable.
