John Stoddard Cancer Center - Medical Oncology and Hematology Clinic Now Open
Sep 03, 2025UnityPoint Health – John Stoddard Cancer Center is proud to announce the official opening of its new medical oncology and hematology clinic.
The UnityPoint Health – John Stoddard Cancer Center – Medical Oncology and Hematology clinic, located in Suite 250 of the Stoddard Cancer Center building, is staffed by medical oncologists and hematologists with advanced expertise in treating cancer and blood disorders. Expanded chemotherapy infusion services, located in Suite 430 within the outpatient infusion center, are provided by chemotherapy-certified nurses who deliver cancer treatment with skill and compassion.
“Our new medical oncology and hematology services build on Stoddard Cancer Center’s longstanding reputation as central Iowa’s trusted leader in cancer care,” said Jon Rozenfeld, UnityPoint Health – Des Moines president. “With the addition of these services, patients and families across central Iowa can now have access to comprehensive, expert-driven care, delivered by a multidisciplinary team, covering the full continuum of cancer care services, from diagnosis through survivorship, all under one roof.”
In addition to the new clinic, Stoddard Cancer Center continues to offer a wide range of services, including radiation oncology and brachytherapy services, a dedicated inpatient adult oncology unit, and an Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program. In addition, patients and families have access to extensive support services such as an oncology navigation team, counseling services, a dietician, meal programs, the EMPOWER Boutique and Salon, the Charlie Cutler Healing and Wellness Program, rehabilitation services, genetic counseling and patient and caregiver support groups. Stoddard Cancer Center also partners closely with Blank Children’s Hospital to provide cancer care for patients of all ages.
