Thyroid Nodule Evaluation and Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)
The endocrinology team at UnityPoint Clinic provides evaluation and specialized care for patients with thyroid nodules. When further evaluation of a thyroid nodule is needed, our team offers fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures to help determine whether a nodule is benign or requires additional evaluation or treatment.
An FNA is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a small needle to collect a sample of cells from a thyroid nodule. The sample is then evaluated by a pathologist to help determine the appropriate next steps in care.
Our team works closely with each patient to provide individualized recommendations based on thyroid imaging, laboratory results, medical history and FNA results.
Services may include:
- Evaluation of thyroid nodules
- Thyroid ultrasound review
- Fine needle aspiration (FNA) of thyroid nodules
- Review and interpretation of FNA results
- Recommendations for ongoing monitoring or treatment based on results
- Evaluation and management of other thyroid conditions
Our goal is to provide timely, specialized evaluation and personalized care to help patients understand their thyroid condition and determine the most appropriate next steps.
Diabetes Care
The UnityPoint Clinic Diabetes Care team in Moline is committed to helping individuals with all types of diabetes live a better quality of life through education, coaching and support. Managing diabetes may be a challenge, but you don't have to do it alone.
Our Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) help people with or at risk for diabetes gain the knowledge and skills needed to change behavior and successfully self-manage diabetes and its related conditions. CDEs are required to have a minimum of two years of experience educating people who have diabetes and must pass a rigorous examination.
Diabetes education is offered in group or individual classes, and focuses on seven self- care behaviors that are essential for improved health and greater quality of life.
The AADE7™ Self-Care Behaviors are:
- Healthy eating
- Being active
- Monitoring
- Taking medication
- Problem solving
- Healthy coping
- Reducing risks
No referral is needed to work with a diabetes educator. Call the Diabetes Care team at (309) 623-7030 to make an appointment.
