UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Cardiology Services and Cardiovascular Associates announces the addition of Roque Arteaga, MD, FACC, to its cardiology staff.
Arteaga specializes in electrophysiology, a procedure that records the electrical activity and pathways of a patient’s heart.
He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil in Ecuador. In addition, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida and a cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta, Georgia before completing a clinical in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City.
Prior to joining St. Luke’s Cardiology Services and Cardiovascular Associates, Arteaga served as the Medical Director for Cardiac Rehabilitation at Great Plains Regional Medical Center and as a cardiologist with the Nebraska Heart Institute, both in North Platte, Nebraska.
He is board certified in adult echocardiography, cardiovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine.
Arteaga joins Drs. Herbert Hartman, Michael Hogan, Swapna Kanuri, Deborah Majerus, Jon Peacock, Thong Pham, Prasanna Sugathan, Jeffrey Sykes, Joy Taylor, William Wanner and Edward Zajac and mid-level providers Michelle Hardie, Kathryn Haack, Teresa Muller and Holly Rozeboom already in practice.
For nearly 40 years, St. Luke’s Cardiology Services and Cardiovascular Associates have been providing cardiology care in Siouxland and various outreach locations in Iowa and Nebraska.
