Juffer joins St. Luke's College as Associate Professor
Deb Juffer has joined St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health as an associate professor for the division of nursing education.
In her new role, Juffer will be teaching the professional development course for students in the Associate Degree Program as well as teaching the nursing research and education in health care courses in the Bachelor Degree Program.
Juffer was previously employed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s and was named one of Iowa’s 100 Great Nurses by the Iowa Nurses Association in 2010. Prior to this position, Juffer served as a professor in St. Luke’s College. She also worked as a staff nurse and nurse manager at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
A native of Ireton, Iowa, Juffer has her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Morningside College and was named Morningside’s Alumni of the Year in 2009. She also received her Master of Science degree in nursing from South Dakota State University with a focus in Adult Health Education.
Juffer is certified as a medical-surgical nurse from the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses. She has also served as a Chapter 2 Nursing Education Consultant for the Iowa Board of Nursing and board member of Morningside College and Dordt College nursing boards.
Located at 2800 Pierce Street in Sioux City, St. Luke’s College celebrated record enrollment in its 2014 fall semester. St. Luke’s College offers Bachelor Degree Completion Programs in Nursing and Health Sciences; Associate Degree Programs in Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care; Certificate Programs in Medical Laboratory Science and Phlebotomy; and Specialty Certifications in Sonography, CT, MRI and Mammography; and a Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
