A Letter to EMS Providers From UnityPoint Health
Dear EMS Providers,
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week gives us a chance to pause to issue a heart-felt thank you for all the work you do in the moments that matter most to our patients. We know you are often the first ones to a confusing, dangerous and often serious medical emergency. You see people at their worst and take them to receive further help from medical professionals, who work to give them life-saving care. Our patients depend on you when their lives are on the line.
For answering the call to serve our public, you are a true hero in our communities. We know some teams are from rural areas, and these crews perform lifesaving tasks as volunteers. It’s a true testament to your character that you go above and beyond your daily responsibility in your home and family life to fight for the health of your community in your spare time. For that, we are forever grateful.
No matter the size of the EMS crew, we know when the ambulance lights are flashing; you’re on your way to provide vital assistance. You see everything from trauma scenes and tragic accidents, to strokes and heart attacks. We know it’s not easy work and that you’ll be forever impacted by each and every scene and patient you see. Know that we are indebted to your service. Though most of us hope to never see you rushing to our homes, we know if we need you, you’ll be there.
