2017 Emergency Conference scheduled in Sioux City
First responders, paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), emergency nurses, Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) and other emergency personnel will gather for the annual Emergency Conference 2017 on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25 at the Sioux City Convention Center.
Sponsored by UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s, Mercy Medical Center – Sioux City and Western Iowa Tech Community College, the Emergency Conference is designed to provide current information related to emergency medical services (EMS) for pre-hospital and emergency room care. A variety of topics will be covered during the conference including current trends in trauma care, national simulation issues, stroke assessments, toxidromes, opioid use, spinal immobilization and other EMS related sessions.
The conference will feature two keynote speakers: Dr. Heather Davis, the Program Director for University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Paramedic Education Program and Associate Director of UCLA Center for Pre-Hospital Care, and Loren “Lee” Ridge, NREMT-P, PS, a faculty member at Hawkeye Community College EMS Program with over 30 years of experience as a Flight Paramedic, simulation specialist and speaker at national level EMS conferences.
Registration fees are $80 for one day or $130 for both days of the Emergency Conference. Continuing education credit is available for EMS and nursing attendees.
