Sacino Murphy joins St. Luke's College as Associate of Science in Nursing Department Chair

St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health is pleased to name Lorraine Sacino Murphy as Department Chair of the Associate of Science in Nursing Program.
In her new role, Sacino Murphy will support faculty and students, and provide leadership and administrative responsibilities for the Associate of Science Nursing Program.
Sacino Murphy was recently promoted to Associate Professor at St. Luke’s College and worked closely with the Dean of Nursing Education on faculty development, orientation, and mentoring. She was also a nurse for 18 years, serving in long-term care and medical/telemetry hospital nursing care, and has been in nursing education for the last six years.
Sacino Murphy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and her Master of Science in Nursing from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education in Health Professions Education at Allen College. Sacino Murphy also has two nursing certifications as a gerontological nurse and certified nurse educator.
As a member in several organizations, Sacino Murphy participates in Sigma Theta Tau International, Gehlen Catholic School Health Committee, Plymouth County Board of Health and Connections Area Aging Advisory Council.
Located at 2800 Pierce Street in Sioux City, St. Luke’s College celebrated record enrollment in its 2014 fall semester. St. Luke’s College offers Bachelor Degree Completion Programs in Nursing and Health Sciences; Associate Degree Programs in Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care; Certificate Programs in Medical Laboratory Science and Phlebotomy; and Specialty Certifications in Sonography, CT, MRI and Mammography; and a Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
