Annual Pediatric Conference returns in October
The Upper Midwest Regional Pediatric Conference is slated for October 1 and 2 at the Stoney Creek Inn & Conference Center in Sioux City, Iowa. The annual conference is co-sponsored by Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s, Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City, Prairie Pediatrics and Adolescent Clinic and Siouxland Medical Education Foundation.
The two-day series of seminars focuses on diagnostic and treatment options for common and uncommon conditions affecting infants, children and adolescents.
At this year’s conference, notable topics include peri-operative pain management, the evolving role of the Nurse Practitioner, adolescent and adult Congenital Heart Disease, simple and complex pneumonia, osteoarticular infections, pediatric neuromuscular diseases, glomerulonephritis, common urologic disorders, teen suicide, and intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation. The conference will also feature two keynote sessions: “Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy in a Changing World: Considerations for Clinical Practice and Policy” and “Pediatric Stroke: Different Strokes for Little Folks.”
Continuing education credit is available for physicians, midlevel providers, residents, and nurses. For other allied health professionals and students, a certificate of attendance will be awarded to reflect the hours of instruction attended. Prior to September 10, cost of the conference is $95 for one day and $190 for both days for nursing and allied health professionals and $125 for one day and $250 for both days of the conference for physicians and midlevel providers. Full-time students can attend the conference for $75 for one day and $150 for both days. The conference rate increases by $10 after September 10, 2015.
