Iowa Insurance Division Travels to Sioux City to Meet With Consumers

The Iowa Insurance Division (IID) is providing a free consumer outreach event to educate consumers about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the federal Health Insurance Marketplace. The presentation will take place at UnityPoint Saint Luke’s Hospital, located in Sioux City Iowa, on October 22, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. IID’s presentation is part of a larger outreach effort designed to supplement the federal government’s efforts to help Iowans better understand the federal Health Insurance Marketplace as established by ACA.

The presentation is one of a number of town hall presentations providing information on the Affordable Care Act and the federal Health Insurance Marketplaces for consumers. The consumer presentations will address topics including: how to access the marketplace to sign up for healthcare coverage, the tax credits that may be available to consumers in moderate income households, and how to re-enroll for those with Marketplace Coverage. Each presentation will offer consumers the opportunity for a question and answer session with State officials as well as time for one on one questions following the presentation. Informational handouts will also be available.

IID’s efforts, such as the consumer town hall in Sioux City, will supplement the primary outreach efforts done by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as the federal government is actually operating Iowa’s Marketplace and its informational outreach.

IID invites the public to this free presentation for consumers at UnityPoint Saint Luke’s Hospital.
