Cardiology Conference will celebrate 34 years of professional education
The 34th Annual Cardiology Conference will be held for area health care professionals on Wednesday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Delta Hotel South Sioux City Riverfront, 385 East 4th Street, South Sioux City. All physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, cardiology technicians and other health care professionals interested in cardiac care are encouraged to attend.
This year’s conference will highlight several important heart care topics, including: diabetes medications with cardiovascular benefits, cardiac imaging for the non-cardiologist, interesting case studies to rule out cardiac factors, beta blocker therapy and heart failure chronic disease management.
Conference faculty include Stephen Kopecky, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester; Raju Ailiani, MD, Gundersen Health System, La Crosse; Darrel Newman, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester; Andrew Goldsweig, MD, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha; Adam Burdorf, DO, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha; Shelly Sturgill, RN, Cardiovascular Services Care Coordinator, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s, Sioux City; and Lynett Kayl, RN, Heart Failure Program Manager, Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City.
Continuing education credit is available for CME, AAFP, Nursing and Allied Health. The cost of the conference is $89 and $99 per person after October 3, 2018.
