Patient and staff enthusiast, celebrated by fellow St. Luke's employees
by UnityPoint Health - Sioux City - June 6, 2016
It is usually
black and white, you either love surprises or you down right despise them. If
you are Linda Weinzetl, a surgery care technician at UnityPoint Health – St.
Luke’s, you love them.
In fact, you love
them so much you can’t bear the thought of someone missing out on a surprise
that could be honoring them.
Weinzetl, who
has been with St. Luke’s for over 24 years, is quite familiar with the St.
Luke’s Employee of the Month recognition program. This program honors one
employee every month for their extraordinary work.
“I love these
surprise celebrations”, exclaimed Weinzetl. “I’m usually the one running room
to room making sure everyone comes out to celebrate in case they are the
winner. You can’t miss the announcement!”
This time,
she was so busy gathering her co-workers that she almost missed out on her own announcement.
Weinzetl herself was the honoree for June.
Amy
Munchrath, manager of surgery, says she shows that same amount of unconditional
support for her patients as she does for her co-workers.
“Linda is
such an amazing person. She is a great advocate for St. Luke’s, her teammates
and our patients who all love her.”
Nominated by her
fellow employees, Weinzetl is described as “helpful, kind, friendly, gracious,
knowledgeable, cheerful, compassionate and unforgettable.”
As the St.
Luke’s Employee of the Month for June, Weinzetl received a special watch from Greenberg’s Jewelers, her own premium
parking space, gift cards to the St.
Luke’s Glass Apple Gift Shop, The Parkview Café and a gift certificate to
be used at an area restaurant. She will also have the chance to be voted as St.
Luke’s Employee of the Year for 2016. That comes with a paid vacation.
