St. Luke's employee of the month
April 3, 2017
A family tradition
UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Employee of the Month for April is Heather Rush, a physical therapist (PT), who is known for being kind, considerate, thoughtful and knowledgeable. This honor, now a family affair, was also awarded to her mother previously in 1993 and 2007.
Rush’s positivity is noticed by everyone who crosses her path, especially her patients and co-workers. Those co-workers, along with other members of the St. Luke’s family, gathered to recognize Rush in a surprise ceremony.
“This is such a great honor for me to receive employee of the month,” said Rush. “It truly means a lot that my co-workers and patients think so highly of me. I have a great team to work with.”
Rush’s manager, Mindy Spenner, PT, says she is glad to be able to work with Rush every day. “Heather’s heart shines through with her work and her connection to her team,” adds Spenner.
“Heather is a hard worker and is very dedicated to her patients and to the UnityPoint Health team,” says Mike Schmidt, Director of Therapy Services. “We are very fortunate to have her as a part of our department.”
Patients describe Rush as caring, understanding and patient.
As the St. Luke’s Employee of the Month for April, Rush received a special watch from Greenberg’s Jewelers, her own premium parking space, gift cards to the St. Luke’s Glass Apple Gift Shop, The Parkview Café and a gift certificate to be used at an area restaurant. She will also have the chance to be voted as St. Luke’s Employee of the Year for 2017. That comes with a paid vacation.
