UnityPoint Clinic - Sioux City to Begin Vaccinating All Individuals 16+
by UnityPoint Health - Sioux City - April 12, 2021
UnityPoint Clinic Primary Care locations in Sioux City and Sergeant Bluff
will begin vaccinating patients on April 22, 2021.
Patients over the age of 16 who would like to receive the vaccine can schedule an appointment by contacting their primary care provider, at either UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine – Sunnybrook
, UnityPoint Clinic Pediatrics – Sunnybrook
, or UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine – Sgt. Bluff
. Appointments are required, as vaccinations at each location will only be given during certain days and times.
The Federal Government is managing the vaccine distribution, with state public health departments determining the number of doses available to health care systems and other priority groups in each state. We anticipate supplies will continue to increase. However, a COVID-19 vaccine will not be available for young children until more studies are completed.
Although significant progress continues in the development and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine, it’s important to practice COVID-19 safety measures for the foreseeable future. Even after a person is vaccinated, they should continue to stay home when sick, wear a mask and social distance.
