Reproductive Health and Family Planning Services
Complete Exam including Pap Smear and Birth Control
Family Planning provides confidential, low-cost, preventative health care to both females and males to help with their sexual health and reproductive health needs.
Services include pap smears, breast and pelvic exams, providing and dispensing of various birth control, pregnancy testing, screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (Chlamydia and Gonorrhea), and providing emergency contraception.
- All your visits to Family Planning are strictly confidential. No one need ever know that you have visited us.
- We have a Spanish-speaking staff that can assist our Spanish-speaking clients.
- All of our patient forms and fact sheets are also available in Spanish.
Our fees are based on a sliding scale. The amount you pay is based on your income and the number of people who depend on you for support. If you have little or no income, for example if you are a student, you may be able to receive free services through our Title X federal grant. Please ask us about our fees and payment arrangements.
Generally, our services cost less than a visit to a private physician's office. We also provide supplies at a fraction of the cost charged by pharmacies and drug stores.
Payment is due at the time of your visit. We also accept selected insurances, Medicaid and IFPN.
Pregnancy Testing and Emergency Contraception
We offer pregnancy testing during normal hours of operation. Please call us to schedule an appointment,
Unprotected Sex? We have emergency contraception available to anyone who has had unprotected sex in the last 3 days (72 hours). It is more effective if taken soon after unprotected sex, so don't wait.
Reproductive Health Education
Education, outreach, counseling and referral are provided to clients and available to the community upon request.
Presentations to schools and community groups are available upon request. Topics include: puberty, birth control and STD prevention, HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy prevention and how to talk to kids about sexuality.
Confidential Services for Teenagers
If you are a teenager you do not need your parent's permission for birth control services. It is confidential by the law in Iowa. We will encourage you to talk with your parents or other adult about birth control and your visit to our clinic.
Testing and Treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's)
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), are among the most common infectious diseases in the United States today. Confidential testing and treatment is provided at our clinic. Please call our office to make an appointment.
Confidential HIV Testing
The Rapid HIV Antibody screening includes a highly confidential pre and post test counseling and oral swab testing for the HIV antibody for all Iowa residents that meet Iowa Department of Public Health guidelines.
For positive tests, counseling and referral services are available as well as partner notification services.
HIV/AIDS Testing and education is provided to Muscatine County residents by appointment.
Free condoms and condom education is available at our office during normal hours of operation.
