UnityPoint Health - Trinity Announces first Project SEARCH Graduating Class
UnityPoint Health – Trinity is proud to present the first graduating class of this year’s partnership with Project SEARCH. Nearly 100 family members and guests joined the celebration this weekend in the Bettendorf campus. Project SEARCH is a work immersion program for students with disabilities to transition into full-time employment.
There were ten departments that participated in Project SEARCH this year from August 2016 to May 2017. The interns completed three, 10-week rotations throughout the multiple departments. Each intern is gained skills alongside UnityPoint Health – Trinity employees who provided mentorship, guidance, training, and support in a real workplace environment. UnityPoint Health – Trinity and Project SEARCH aim to assist and provide tools for interns to lead independent lives and become contributing members of our community. So far, three of the seven interns have obtained employment.
