About Kelsey J., OTD, OTR/L
Biography
Why did you become an occupational therapist?
I was always interested in working in healthcare. I learned about occupational therapy and fell in love with the profession. Occupational therapy allows me to build relationships and in return develop creative approaches. These approaches aid individuals with improving their strength and skills to participate in meaningful activities. The joy on their faces when they can complete a once challenging activity with ease makes being an occupational therapist worth while.
What is the most important thing for patients to know about your practice?
I meet all my patients and families with empathy and compassion. As a parent of a medically complex child, I understand the stress of taking your child to multiple appointments, IEP meetings, and administering medications, etc.
