About Kaylie Hackenmiller, ARNP

Biography

I enjoy connecting with patients and making sure they feel supported throughout their healthcare journey. I take time to build trust, provide education and tailor care to each person’s unique needs. My goal is to ensure each patient feels valued, understood and cared for.

Why did you become a provider?
Working as a nurse in the intensive care unit, I witnessed patients at their most vulnerable, which inspired my passion for helping people stay healthy and effectively manage chronic conditions. That experience highlighted how important prevention, education and access to quality primary care are, and it motivated me to further my education and become a nurse practitioner. As a provider, I have the opportunity to support patients proactively, build lasting relationships and make a meaningful impact on their long-term health.

Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health?
I completed both my undergraduate and graduate nursing education through Allen College, during which I had the opportunity to work as both a nurse tech and a nurse within UnityPoint Health. Those experiences shaped how much I value the culture here, especially the strong foundation of teamwork, collaboration and shared commitment to patient-centered care.

Most important thing to know about you?
I believe health care works best as a partnership, built on trust and communication. I take the time to listen, answer questions and involve patients in decisions about their health. My focus is on compassionate, evidence-based care that helps patients stay healthy, feel supported and know they have someone in their corner.
