About Katrina Mahoney, DPT, CBIS

Biography

Professional Statement:
From the moment I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to be part of the healthcare field. In 2011, I started volunteering at St. Luke’s, and that experience sparked my passion for physical therapy. I loved the opportunity to work one-on-one with patients and play a role in helping them regain function and improve their quality of life through rehabilitation. As I continued my education and began my career as a physical therapist, I found myself especially drawn to neurological specialties. I truly enjoy vestibular therapy and working with individuals who have spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and functional neurological disorders. My goal with every patient is to meet them where they are, support them in reaching their personal goals, and help improve their mobility so they can get back to doing the things they love.

Why did you become a provider?

I became a physical therapist because I was interested in the health care field, specifically improving patients' mobility and independence. I found that with physical therapy, I was able to build a patient/provider relationship and see patients multiple times a week to reach their goals.

What is the most important thing for people to know about you and your practice?

I am a strong patient advocate, and our practice focuses on the full picture of each patient's case including physical, mental, emotional, and social components of their care. We thrive in returning individuals to activities that enrich their daily life.
