About Jessica Woellhof, ARNP
Biography
I chose to become a Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Medicine in rural Iowa because I am deeply committed to serving communities where access to high-quality, urgent medical care can be limited. Growing up/working in rural settings taught me the value of resilience, resourcefulness, and relationship-centered care. Becoming an ARNP allows me to bring care to a community that deserves it, to make a meaningful impact every day, and to contribute to the health of rural Iowans.
Why did you decide to join UPH?:
I chose to work for UnityPoint Health because of its strong commitment to patient centered care and community health. I value working for an organization that prioritizes compassion and high-quality care. Being able to serve Iowa communities while growing professionally in a supportive environment made UnityPoint the right choice for me.
Most important thing to know about you:
The most important thing about me and my practice is that I grew up in rural Iowa, which allows me to genuinely relate to the community I serve. I understand the values, challenges, and strengths of rural communities. My background helps me provide compassionate, patient-centered care that respects each individual's circumstances and needs.
Ideal provider/patient relationship:
For me and my patients, the most important part of care is partnering together in decisions about health. Shared decision-making means that I bring my medical knowledge and experience, and the patient brings their lived experiences, goals, values, and preferences. Together we choose the best path that fits their health needs.
What do you like to do in your free time?:
Outside of work, I'm a proud mom and military wife, and spending quality time with my family is one of my top priorities. I love traveling with my husband and kids, exploring new places and making memories together.
